Kaufmann OneThis Kaufmann 1 Shepherds Pie recipe is sure to fill all of your hungers desires! We have also included a few optional additions to this recipe that are Kaufmann 2.

 

Ingredients:

1 head cauliflower
5 large carrots (peeled & diced or sliced)
2 lbs grass fed ground beef (ground turkey or chicken)
1 medium onion
Salt & pepper (to taste)
1 cup beef broth
1 to 2 Tbsp arrow root flour
Fresh thyme (de-stemmed)
Fresh baby spinach (about 2 cups)
Garlic powder
Parmesan cheese (grated or shredded)
(optional – Parmesan cheese is Kaufmann 2)

 

Directions:

Cut Cauliflower into small pieces, steam until soft.  Put into a bowl and mash.  Set aside.

Cook carrots in boiling water until cooked through but not too soft.  Drain and set aside.

Cook ground beef in skillet until partially browned.  Drain any grease, add onion and cook until onion is slightly translucent and beef is cooked through.  Season with salt and pepper.

Stir in broth then sprinkle in arrowroot to thicken the liquid.  Add more if you like a thicker sauce.

Pour beef mixture into a 13×9” baking dish. Layer cooked carrots over beef then sprinkle dish with thyme.

Layer with spinach then top with the mashed cauliflower and spread it over the top.

Season dish with garlic powder and salt.

Sprinkle dish with the Parmesan cheese (optional – Parmesan cheese is Kaufmann 2).

Preheat oven to 350℉.  Bake until top of the Shepherds Pie starts to brown a little. Enjoy this great Shepherds Pie recipe with several others, theres going to be plenty!
