We at Know The Cause lost a dear friend on Sunday. I received a text from Barb Long telling me that her husband, Frank passed in their home on Sunday. Frank and I had both served in Vietnam, he in the Marine Corps, I a Navy Hospital Corpsman attached to The Marine Corps. We bonded the second we met in Lima Ohio many years ago. I wish you all could have seen Barb and Frank together in our studio. Behind the scenes, they both had such a great sense of humor. They always made us laugh. After filming a few segments, producer John Miller told us that it was time to change clothes. Frank quietly stared at my sports coat, smiled, and then said, “I’ll never fit in that!” That was Frank Long!
A wise man once said that death is only the end if you assume the story is about you. When he visited Dallas, he and Barb and John and I always enjoyed lunch together. It always started with prayer. Here sat this broad-shouldered ex-Marine, his head bowed, his eyes shut as we prayed. He could kick his heels up and have fun, but Frank never assumed the story was about him. He knew, loved and served The Lord. I thank God for the time we had together. Please keep Barb Long and her wonderful company, Long Life Unlimited in your thoughts and prayers. Rest In Peace, Frank…and Semper Fi! Condolences may be expressed to the family here
