Do you know your birthday? I believe we all do. Who knows your death day? Apparently, medical researchers and/or statisticians do. In 2015, WebMD stated that new guidelines for taking statin drugs could save tens of thousands of lives. To make such a statement obviates inside information as to tens of thousands of people death dates. Purportedly, statin drugs will prevent those deaths. Drugs Might Extend Life! Seriously?
Based on their faith in themselves and statin drugs, it was probably predictable that a few years later a few more drugs would be added to save even more lives. Now comes a study that a cocktail of 3 drugs “could save millions of lives a year…” Who didn’t see this coming?
I look at quality longevity much differently. I do not believe that prescriptive drugs should be used as “life extenders.” I believe just the opposite is true and it seems science is on my side here. In 2000, Barbara Starfield, MD published in The Journal of The American Medical Association (JAMA) that about 294 people in America die every single day from non-error, adverse effects of prescription drugs. Imagine what that number is today! Make intelligent medical decisions and be careful out there!
