Learn how to boost your testosterone naturally with the Kaufmann Diet.

Most men have likely seen the advertisements for testosterone therapy promising heightened libido, more energy, better physique and a number of other benefits. While doctors have been offering hormone therapy to women for some time now, it is only in recent years that this therapy has been pushed on men.

Testosterone does naturally decline as men age, and it is thought that when levels get too low, you can be at heightened risk for disease. But before you run to your nearest “Low T” clinic, there are plenty of things you can do to naturally boost your testosterone.

What You Eat Is Important.

If you want to boost your testosterone naturally, it is important to eat enough and maintain a healthy balance of protein, healthy fats and carbohydrates. The Kaufmann Diet is a good option for this, particularly the Kaufmann 2 Diet, which includes healthy sources of complex carbohydrates. These types of carbs from beans, oats and fruit will not spike your insulin, which may result in weight gain; men who carry more weight are known to have lower testosterone.

There are some foods known to help boost testosterone. These include tuna, shellfish (including oysters), beans, eggs and beef. These are all included on The Kaufmann 1 and Kaufmann 2 Diet. Onions, garlic and pomegranate might also be helpful.

The Kaufmann Diet is also beneficial, because it helps eliminate yeast and fungi from the body; these organisms are known to emit chemicals that can disrupt human hormones.

Exercise, And Lift Heavy Things.

Exercise, particularly weight lifting, is a surefire way to make sure you maintain healthy testosterone levels. Many studies have shown that men who lift weights or do resistance training have higher levels of testosterone. There’s no need to overdo it––overtraining can negatively affect hormones like a sedentary lifestyle can––but a sensible exercise program that includes weight lifting is key to maintaining testosterone.

Avoid Estrogen-like Chemicals.

These include things like bisphenol A (BPA) found in plastic and parabens. Opt for containers other than plastic for food and beverages when possible.  There are a number of endocrine disruptors found in cosmetics and other household products, so it is important to be mindful of the products you use.

Some Supplements May Help.

Skip the “testosterone booster” supplements, but making sure you get enough of certain vitamins and minerals might help. Vitamin D, zinc and magnesium are important, along with vitamins A, C and E.

Get Some Sleep, And Minimize Stress.

Rest and relaxation are not for the weak. Sleep is critical for maintaining healthy testosterone levels. Cortisol, the stress hormone, can also wreck your testosterone as well; it is important to mitigate stress as much as possible when trying to boost testosterone.
