Your Next “Cleanse” Should be a Candida Cleanse

Going on a “cleanse” has become a trendy thing to do, but what exactly is a cleanse, anyway?

There are a variety of types of cleanses, but the general idea is to detoxify the body, either of toxic chemicals, unwanted parasites, or any other number of health-detracting things. There are a variety of ways one may go about doing this, but generally speaking, it involves eating or drinking an array of unpleasant juices, supplements or things one would otherwise likely never consume and likely forgoing food or eating in a very strict manner. And for many, the feelings they experience while on the cleanse are even worse than the way the food and supplements taste.

Now, if one is going to put oneself through all the unpleasantness of going on a cleanse, one should certainly have a specific set of goals in mind. For instance, do you want to get rid of heavy metals in the body? You’ll likely want to include lots of greens and chlorophyl. Are you concerned about parasites? Try adding in wormwood or other anti-parasitic supplements. Want to help support your liver? Milk Thistle is there for that. Want to flush your kidneys? Unsweetened cranberry juice may help.

All of these things are good goals, and cleanses may assist towards these or many other ends. But perhaps one of the main goals when “cleansing” the body of unwanted materials and/or parasites should be ridding the body of pathogenic yeasts, such as candida and the poisons (known as mycotoxins) they produce.

To this end, there are many kits you can buy that purport to help cleanse the body of candida. However, candida is just one kind of fungi that can infect the body, causing an array of health problems; there are other types of yeasts and fungi that can parasitize we humans. And while a candida cleanse certainly does not hurt, what may be more beneficial is a more broad-spectrum approach to protecting against yeasts, fungi and the poisons they produce.

This is the goal of the Kaufmann 1 Diet; it acts not just as a candida cleanse, but as a broad-spectrum approach towards starving pathogenic fungi and reducing the risk of exposure to the poisons they make, which contaminate parts of our food supply. It is important to remember that yeasts and fungi are opportunistic organisms; while simply doing a single candida cleanse may aid in ridding the body of candida, if you resume a diet heavy in sugar and carbohydrates following the cleanse, candida will likely find a way to return. For this reason (among others), the Kaufmann 1 Diet can be considered more a life-style than a short-term cleanse or diet.

After eliminating fungi and yeasts from the body, many people find that they feel much better, better than they have in years. Particularly, if you are plagued by symptoms that simply do not respond to other therapies, trying an anti-fungal program may yield the results you have been searching for.
