HEIRLOOM – the same seed has been passed down generationally. This requires open pollination, which enables the seed to produce seedlings just like the parent plants.
EXAMPLE: HEIRLOOM TOMATOES
HYBRID-cross-pollination enables hybrid foods to form, but the hybrids don’t produce plants with identical qualities. Seeds from hybridized plants tend to revert to the Qualities of the parent seeds.
EXAMPLE: SEEDLESS WATERMELON
GMO-unlike hybrids, these GMO foods are altered using molecular genetics like gene cloning. This was initiated to feed poor countries and to grow disease resistant plants. Using GMO, pesticides can be infused into the food.
EXAMPLES: 88% OF ALL CORN AND 93% OF ALL SOYBEANS, 90% OF ALL CANOLA, 75% OF ALL PAPAYAS
Genesis 1:11- Then God said, “let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.”
