“Recreational alcohol use may partially drive weight gain. However, decades of epidemiological evidence have shown conflicting findings between greater alcohol intake and measures of adiposity. Greater alcohol use has been related to both higher and lower body mass Index as well as both increased and decreased adipose mass measurements…”
This quote is taken from a research paper referenced in an article on studyfinds.org, the headline of which is Your choice of wine benefits your health in different ways, study reveals.
That caught my eye as I cannot find one benefit to any alcohol, although I will admit to abusing it upon returning home from Vietnam 51 years ago. It became my crutch and seemed to calm the savage beast in me. Decades later I have to wonder why anyone would drink mycotoxins on purpose, knowing full well that alcohol is linked with many, many health problems. Did you know that a prominent medical website states that alcohol is linked to 7 types of cancer?
Body mass index aside, please consider the damage that these mycotoxins, including alcohol, can do to speed up the aging and/or death process in many people. Instead of “recreational alcohol,” consider recreational hiking, biking, swimming or recreational ANYTHING, other than alcohol.
