Hummus with Turmeric

Ingredients:

2 (15 oz.) cans chick peas (drained & rinsed reserve some water from chick peas – about 1/4 cup)
2 to 4 garlic cloves (smashed)
Juice of 1 lemon
3 Tbs tahini
1 tsp sea salt
2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp cumin
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper (add more for a little heat)
1 Tbs apple cider vinegar
2/3 cup extra virgin olive oil

Directions:

Put all ingredients (except reserved water) into a food processor and blend until smooth.

Add some of the reserved water from chick peas to mixture until desired consistency.

Serve in bowl and drizzle with olive oil.

Notes:

This recipe is allowed on Kaufmann 2 of the Kaufmann Diet

Always use the freshest organic ingredients.

Adjust seasonings to taste.

Add more or less reserved water for desired consistency.
