The word experiment conjures images of scientists with Einstein-coiffed hair hovering over glass beakers steaming with unnamable chemical concoctions. Indeed, I’ve seen these types lurking around the University of Texas science labs, and there is no telling what many of them are cooking up in those facilities. |
Many times you can feel like a guinea pig when you are changing your diet; indeed, you are altering the chemical composition of your insides. On Kaufmann 1 , no longer are you consuming all the grain and starch laden food that the Standard American Diet is packed with. In addition to starving any fungi that might be on board causing you ill symptoms, the Kaufmann 1 seeks to include foods rich in the phytonutrients that nourish and empower the body – this is definitely a potent combination. In the last few posts, I tried to talk about more tasteful options for Kaufmann 1 dieting. When you discard a lot of the foods you are used to enjoying, there can be a taste void that needs filling. Experimenting with new flavors, including new veggies, new kinds of meat and herbs and spices can not only give you new flavors to enjoy, it will also expose you to new varieties of phyto-nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Variety is certainly the spice of life! We just posted a good bit of information on supplements, which you can look at by clicking HERE. Supplements are another area where experimenting is good. If you are experiencing a certain problem, be diligent and your research. There is a wealth of information on this site and others. If one nutrient doesn’t solve your problem, try another, or try a combination. It is important to inform your doctor, especially in more serious circumstances, but supplements aren’t usually like dangerous prescription drugs in that mixing them will create dangerous conditions. Sensibility is certainly key. Rotating anti-fungal supplements is usually a good strategy for keeping fungi in check. Experimenting with different kinds of exercise has been key for me as well. I know for a fact that I can’t stand jogging. But I love riding my bike, hiking in the greenbelt or walking through Zilker Park. I also know that I feel the best when I lift weights a few times a week, but I know that I’m far less likely to go if I have to go by myself. Experimenting with numbers of calories (while still eating all Kaufmann 1 food), eating at certain times of the day and fasting can also be a good strategy for losing weight. The Kaufmann 1 diet works better than any other diet I know of for losing weight in a healthy, sustainable way. I’ve lost weight using it, and seen many other people do the same. Experimenting on yourself is really just about finding your thumbprint (who have I heard say that before??). Finding the right combination of diet, exercise and supplements makes living healthy easier. If you begin the diet, and you aren’t getting the results you need immediately, do some research, and make a few changes accordingly. |
