Statin drugs, before they were used to lower your cholesterol levels, were used to kill fungus! Even more interesting is the fact that some research shows that lowering cholesterol isn’t the only thing that statin drugs can do-they might also grow bone. But I caution you that taking statin drugs is not, in my humbled opinion, the safest way to go, if you have bone loss. Statins have become the darlings of Wall Street, but be careful because the last darling of Wall Street may have injured more women than they helped; hormone replacement therapy, or HRT.
The point of this podcast is to familiarize you with the bone loss-fungus link. Antifungal supplements and lifestyle changes may be in order, including diet and exercise, when brittle bones or bone loss is diagnosed.
