Exercising alone is a poor strategy for weight loss. Exercise combined with proper diet, however, is likely a really good combination for those trying to lose weight. Many people might turn their nose up at this idea; why wouldn’t exercise help you lose weight? It does! But you can eat your way out of any weight loss benefits afforded by exercising.

But that isn’t the sole purpose of exercising. Exercising posses many, many health benefits beyond just weight loss. and this is why you should participate in it. If you are participating in exercise merely to lose weight, you are missing the broader point of why you should move your body on a regular basis.

Getting started with the Kaufmann Diet

There are two primary types of exercise: cardio, and strength training. Cardio exercise include walking, jogging, running, cycling or swimming. Strength training includes lifting weights, body weight exercises, or resistance training. But individually, let’s talk about their benefits.

Engaging in cardio exercises such as walking, jogging, cycling or swimming get your heart pumping, increase your breathing rate, and have positive effects on various aspects of your health. Here are some key benefits of incorporating cardio exercises into your routine:

  5. Strength training enhances muscular strength and endurance, leading to improved physical performance in various activities and sports.
  6. Strength training increases bone density, reducing the risk of osteoporosis and promoting better bone health.
  7. By increasing lean muscle mass, strength training boosts metabolism, aiding in weight management and fat loss.
  8. Strength training plays a pivotal role in injury prevention and rehabilitation. It strengthens the muscles, tendons, and ligaments, providing greater joint stability and reducing the likelihood of injuries. It also improves balance, flexibility, and posture, enhancing overall body mechanics.
  9. Strength training helps lower blood pressure, improves insulin sensitivity, and reduces the risk of chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and certain types of cancer.
