Nothing feels better than to lighten and brighten up in the spring! One way I do this is by drinking lots of nutrient-packed smoothies, loaded with bright greens and fresh or frozen berries! And since dark chocolate comes from the cocoa plant, I wouldn’t dare leave out those nutrients!
Here is the recipe for my Berry Chocolate Spring Smoothie! *a scoop of your favorite Kaufmann 1 or Kaufmann 2 approved plant-based protein is optional.
Ingredients:
15-18 ice cubes
2 cups organic spinach
1 cup strawberries
1 cup raspberries
1 cup blueberries
1/2 avocado
1 tbs almond butter
1 tbs unsweetened cocoa powder (Leave out for Kaufmann 1)
1 tbs unrefined coconut oil
1 tbs raw honey
1 tbs chia seeds
2 1/2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk
Directions:
Add ice to blender or Vitamix. Add in all other ingredients. Pour in almond milk until blender is about 3/4 full.
