Will My Doctor Write Me A Prescription For Antifungal Drugs?

antifungal drugs

Anti-fungal drugs have their place, but they are not always necessary.

Doug Kaufmann often talks about how he and the doctors he worked alongside in years past regularly relied on antifungal medications as part of an antifungal protocol. This protocol, he recalls, seemed to work wonders for many patients who had otherwise found little relief from strange symptoms.

There are a wide variety of antifungal medications available both prescriptively and over the counter. Often, over the counter anti-fungal medications are used to treat superficial, topical fungal infections.

In more serious cases, doctors have an array of Antifungal drugs for which they can write prescriptions. These include drugs like Diflucan, Nystatin, etc. These drugs can be very effective at eliminating fungus inside the body. Doctors know this.

What they often do not realize, however, is just how common fungal overgrowth can be in the body, because this is not taught in medical school. Subsequently, most doctors are usually not familiar with the wide variety of symptoms that these yeast and fungal infections can cause.

Therefore, when those on an Antifungal diet ask their doctors for these drugs, they are often met with a negative response.

This is understandable; doctors’ first charge in the Hippocratic oath is to do no harm. As prescription drugs, these drugs do come with the threat of doing some bodily injury (although this is rare). Why would a doctor willingly choose to write a prescription for a problem he or she has not diagnosed? Often, your request for Antifungal drugs will fall on deaf ears.

These drugs, however, are not always necessaryto accomplish the goal of the Kaufmann Diet.

The diet itself is designed to be very effective in starving pathogenic yeasts and fungi along with mitigating the risk of exposure to food contaminated with mold poisons. Still, there are other tools available to help eliminate these harmful organisms from your body. To fill the void left by the lack of prescription drugs, there is a wonderful array of potent, effective anti-fungal supplements available to you. These include (but are not limited to) supplements like:

– Cinnamon oil
– Clove oil
– Garlic
– Oregano oil
– Caprylic acid
– D-Limonene
– Curcumin
– Grapefruit seed extract
– Olive leaf extract

Typically, these supplements are very safe, but you should always consult your physician before begging a new supplement regimen as supplements can sometimes react negatively with medications. The use of Antifungal supplements, however, coupled with the Antifungal Kaufmann 1 Diet can have profound effects for those suffering from a fungal problem. Often, these supplements have been shown to be as or more effective than certain Antifungal drugs in fighting fungus. While Antifungal drugs have their place and their benefits on the Antifungal program, they are not always available nor necessary.
