I don’t like to be the bearer of bad news, but Richard Nixon declared war on cancer in 1971 by throwing money at the problem. Today we are no closer to curing cancer than we were 50 years ago.
Headlines sell, so here is yet another headline to get us all hoping that these scientists, having discovered the “Achilles heel” of cancer, will soon be curing it.
This study reveals the discovery of an enzyme, called Carbonic Anhydrase IX, that fuels cancer tumors when oxygen levels are low. Their discovery, they contend will “help researchers develop drugs that destroy solid tumors.” Do we need more drugs that might stop cancer from spreading?
These Carbonic Anhydrase enzymes allow cancer cells to spread, so blocking them would stop cancer from metastasizing. We know that the antifungal drug Sporanox also inhibits cancer cells from spreading, so why are new drugs needed to stop metastasis? I recall reading an article many years ago that shark cartilage could also inhibit cancer cells from spreading. If anything, I now believe that scientists are ready to admit that certain lifestyles lead to cancer and certain others don’t.
What is my plan?
Given my belief that many “cancers” are fungal mycotoxin driven, I think they are finally understanding the nature of this disease; don’t smoke, don’t drink alcohol, avoid antibiotics as best as possible, be careful of grains/peanuts in your diet, exercise regularly and take the proper supplements. That is my plan to prevent cancer.
