Let Food Be Your Medicine, Or Medicine Will Become Your Food.
Some good news out of The University of Wisconsin recently. Given the potential of the antifungal drug Amphotericin B to injure kidney cells, researchers have discovered that by understanding the toxic part of the drug and eliminating it, a new (patented) prescription drug will evolve (1).
I have a few thoughts on this discovery. While I am thrilled that kidney toxicity can be eliminated from a 60+ year old antifungal drug, why stop there? All prescription drugs exert toxicity to human tissues, so why not have this same team remove tissue toxicity from all of them? Also, I believe research like this is done for patent protection and therefore money. It is great to help mankind, but better to exploit new prescription product development. Finally, I’ve just got to ask this. Broccoli has antifungal properties and has no side effects! Carrots have antifungal properties (2) and support all body tissues, including the kidneys! Eat coconuts! They are both antifungal (3) and “Coconut milk may be a favorable dairy substitute for patients with chronic kidney disease.” (4).
The money that flows through medicine is mind-boggling. The logic that God imprinted into our brains, even better! Choose wisely! Let Food Be Your Medicine, Or Medicine Will Become Your Food!
