Elderberry Syrup

Elderberry Syrup Recipe

 

Ingredients:

2/3 Cup Dried Elderberries
3.5 Cups Water
2 Tbs Fresh Ginger (pealed & chopped)
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Whole Cloves
1 Cup Raw Honey

 

Instructions:

Put Elderberries, Water, Ginger, Cinnamon and Cloves into a medium saucepan.

Bring to a boil then take down to a simmer and cover. Simmer for 45 minutes to an hour until the liquid has reduced by almost half.

Let cool enough to handle and pour through a strainer. Discard the elderberries.

Let liquid cool to lukewarm and then add the honey and stir well.

Pour into a glass jar or container and keep refrigerated.
