DAY SIX OF SIX

Doug Kaufmann's Official Blog -knowthecause.com If not the PSA, what then?

Doug Kaufmann:
Without using the PSA test, what would you recommend men do to protect against prostate cancer?

Dr. Richard Ablin:
First off, having a PSA test is a personal choice made between a doctor and his male patient. Everything a man needs to know about this subject is in my book, written in a way the average man can understand. I would recommend that only men with a strong family history of prostate cancer who are very worried about the disease contemplate having a PSA test. They must be fully aware of the inherent risks involved in that decision. But there are growing data that suggest certain lifestyle and dietary steps may have a contributory preventive effect against prostate cancer. However, all men need to realize what may work for one man, may not work for another, i.e., “one size does not fit all”. I would encourage all men to be aware of their bodies and their health.

The Germ That Causes Cancer

This book expounds upon the role of fungus in cancer.  Most physicians are unaware that common antibiotics may contribute to cancer while drugs that kill fungus often help cancer patients.  This is an important book that has been reduced to a much easier read for the layperson.  It includes a chemotherapy nurses notes, the confessions of a chemotherapy drug salesman and a physicians account of what he would do if he were diagnosed with cancer.  Includes diets.
